WOVEN METAL OBJECTS
My approach is based on the dialogue between materials, looks and gestures.
It is not the objects themselves that put me to work but the moment they are born in space as if I grab a movement that is already there and that would be born of my fingers, without intention ...
I am not trying to explicitly show plant or animal organisms, but some of my creations have fluid terminations that can evoke tentacles or biomorphic ramifications; they would be like an organism that would grow without my knowledge.
|These objects do not tell anything, they do not describe anything, they simply reveal my appetites for drawing, a solid and fragile drawing at a time.
I draw also on paper, but the thread that I weave gives itself to see directly like a body, it allows me to pass without transition of the touch to the concrete form. Under the magic of light, the shadows are drawn on the nearby planes; drawing is no longer a beginning but an encounter between matter and image.
I believe that this work is a concretization of my imagination by the omnipresent desire to build, it trains me well beyond my intentions. He is in front of me and puts me in balance between seeing him and feeling him.
This unknown world, both raw and delicate, invents my actions. It gives free rein to the eyes. Whether lamp or skull, this texture speaks of my roots: both the technical world (mechanics and sewing) and the world of life.
I do not define this practice as a product line; what I propose is a world with no other limit than that of my intuitions. These objects are like prisms that exacerbate the light, they move me forward in space and time.
